Over 18 years full time clinical experience and practice in the Moonee Valley region, incorporating Kensington, Maribyrnong, Ascot Vale, Essendon, Moonee Ponds and now practising on the Mornington Peninsula in Bittern, near Hastings, Balnarring, Red Hill and Somers.
I started practice on Maribyrnong Rd at Moonee Ponds Wellness Centre for over 6 years before starting my own business at Chi Temple Natural Therapies on Epsom Rd in Ascot Vale for 9 years. I have now relocated to Leonard Crescent Flemington.
At a young 44 years of age, I have spent well over a good 25 years of my life studying and practising Chinese medicine. Cupping, moxibustion, nutrition, lifestyle counselling can all be included in consultations and is tailored to the individual. Herbal medicine can also be prescribed according to the individual.
Most of my patient base is word of mouth however I am open to new patients both in Flemington and on the Mornington Peninsula. I mostly treat one on one and will spend quality time usually an hour to an hour and a half to make sure patients get the most out of treatments incorporating different modalities such as acupuncture but also massage and cupping. I tend to intuitively feel a lot through my fingers.
I have a background in science, completing an honours degree in biochemistry at the University of Melbourne. Having always taken an interest in Eastern philosophy including tai chi, meditation and ancient remedies from a very young age, I continued my Chinese medicine studies at RMIT where I spent my last year of study treating patients in China. I was also mentored by Stephen Byers at the Fitzroy Chinese Medical Centre for a year.
I have also completed a Graduate Diploma in Health Science in Western Herbal medicine at UNE. Only the best quality herbs and supplements which are TGA and GMP certified and approved are used. I enjoy regular attendance at seminars and keep up to date with new evidence based research in the biochemistry behind conditions/illness with herbal medicine and nutrition and prescribe supplements accordingly. I practice integrating biochemistry and Chinese medicine so bring your blood test results to your appointment to assess your overall wellbeing and optimise your health.
Outside of work, I love reading books, foraging local produce on the Mornington Peninsula, gardening, going to the beach with my dog as well as looking after my beloved rescue ponies and horse. I've also commenced practising equine acupuncture, also prescribing herbs and supplements for horses, after seeing its amazing results on my own ponies.
