Silvia Russo is a registered Chinese Medicine practitioner who previously started her business on Maribyrnong Rd called Moonee Ponds Wellness Centre for over 6 years before she starting up her own business at Chi Temple Natural Therapies on Epsom Rd in Ascot Vale, which has been in existence for over 9 years. Now Silvia has relocated to Balanced Healthcare at 24 Ascot Vale Rd Flemington as of August 2018


At a young 43 years of age, Silvia has spent well over a good 25 years of her life studying and practising Chinese medicine full time.


Silvia is registered in both divisions of acupuncture and herbal medicine and is qualified in remedial/sports massage. Cupping, nutrition and lifestyle counselling including massage and acupuncture is included in consultations and is tailored to the individual. Herbal medicine can also be prescribed according to the individual.


Silvia Russo has a background in science, completing an honours degree in biochemistry at the University of Melbourne. Always having an interest in Eastern philosophy including tai chi, meditation and ancient remedies from a very young age, Silvia continued her studies at RMIT where she then completed her degree in Chinese medicine. She spent her last year of seven years of study treating patients in China. Silvia also was mentored by Stephen Byers at the Fitzroy Chinese Medical Centre for a year. 


Silvia also has completed a Graduate Diploma in Health Science in Western Herbal medicine. Only the best quality herbs and supplements which are TGA and GMP certified and approved are used.  They are superior in quality, hence, Silvia has continued to use them for many years. She also enjoys regular attendance at seminars and keeps up to date with new evidence based research in the biochemistry behind herbal medicine, nutrition and phytotherapy.  


Silvia's interests include general wellbeing, including improving sleep quality, immune system, digestive health, women's health including infertility (pre conception care protocols), wellbeing during pregnancy, musculoskeletal health including neck/shoulder pain, headaches, migraines, lower back pain and psychological & emotional wellbeing.


Silvia has also completed studies in remedial/sports massage. She combines her knowledge of sport's massage, exercises, stretches, trigger points and acupuncture to help treat sport's injuries and other aches and pains.  Having worked along side the medical team at the Western Bulldogs Football Club for 3 years, Silvia is in touch with the latest developments in the treatment of sport's injuries and works alongside other health practitioner's in the local area including GP's, physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and podiatrists to achieve the best results for her patients.  Silvia is a registered and accredited Practitioner for private health insurance rebates, TAC and WorkCover.

In her spare time, Silvia is involved with animal welfare being involved with volunteer groups on the Mornington peninsula and enjoys cooking with local produce on the  Mornington Peninsula (including wine). Silvia also loves reading books, gardening, going to the beach with Tuffy her dog as well as looking after her own beloved rescue ponies and is also currently practises equine acupuncture after seeing its amazing results on her own ponies.
